In an exclusive video interview, Dr. Mudgal talks about hand injuries and disorders, carpal tunnel syndrome and use of digital gadgets and how they impact our hands, fingers and wrist.
Dr. Mudgal will give also an extensive talk on prevention of hand injuries at the Mega Health and Wellness Expo, which will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2016, at Burlington Marriott Hotel in Burlington, MA.

- There are many disorders that may affect hands: trigger finger, ganglia, deformities and osteoarthritis.
- Carpal tunnel syndrome is one of the most commonly known hand diseases whose symptoms include tingling, pain, loss of sensation, weakness, or a combination of all these.
- Wrist injuries lead up to 15 median days hand injuries up to 5 median days away from work, according to recent data.
Dr. Mudgal received his MBBS degree from Bombay University, India. He completed an Orthopaedic Residency in Bombay as well as one in Liverpool, UK, leading to his MS (Orth.) and MCh(Orth.) degrees. Dr. Mudgal went on to complete an additional Orthopaedic Residency in the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Residency Program in Boston, and a Fellowship in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at Cleveland Clinic and Case Western Reserve University.
Dr. Mudgal’s clinical interests include a comprehensive array of hand and upper extremity disorders such as fractures, tendon and nerve injuries and paralytic disorders of the upper limb and arthritic conditions. He is also extremely interested in surgery of the upper limb in patients who have suffered strokes or traumatic head injuries.
Prior to joining MGH faculty Dr. Mudgal was the founding Director of the Hand Service at the Cambridge Health Alliance, in Cambridge MA.
