Dietician Sangeeta Pradhan on controlling diabetes with diet

BURLINGTON, MA—A combination of medication and healthy diet can help control diabetes, which is reaching almost epidemic proportion among Indians worldwide. In an exclusive video interview, dietician Sangeeta Pradhan, Diabetes Coordinator at Charles River Medical Associates, explains the role of diet, especially the Indian diet, in controlling diabetes.

Asian Indians living in the United States have a 20 percent higher prevalence of prediabetes than those living in India. Indians in India have a 50 percent higher prevalence of type 2 diabetes than those residing in the United States, according to latest research.

Pradhan will speak on the role of diet in diabetes control at the Mega Health and Wellness Expo, which will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2016, at Burlington Marriott Hotel in Burlington, MA.

The Expo, which is free to attendees, is organized by INE MultiMedia, a non-profit company devoted to education, empowerment, enrichment and entertainment, in collaboration with INDIA New England News.

Pradhan, RD, CDE, is a Registered Dietician and Certified Diabetes Educator with over 15 years of experience in nutritional counseling. She is the Diabetes Coordinator at Charles River Medical Associates, a physician practice group where she leads a team of Nurse Practitioners.

Pradhan is also the President of the Central Mass Dietetic Association. Her mission in life is to translate the complex science of nutrition into easy to implement, practical guidelines for the consumer thus empowering them to take charge of their health.
