BURLINGTON, MA- Considering the growing amount of clinical research and health benefits of yoga, the goals of New England’s Mega Health Expo won’t be accomplished without a comprehensive yoga experience. YogaCaps and RxRelax, in collaboration with the leading experts in New England, will bring a 4-hour therapeutic yoga experience to kick-off the INE Mega Health Expo on March 5, 2017.
Yoga has been clinically documented to help over 75 health conditions. For Jay Gupta, a pharmacist and yoga therapist, yoga is the next blockbuster drug that has a potential to save billions of healthcare dollars.
But what is yoga, at its most basic? Yoga is a comprehensive set of practices that benefit not just the body, but also the mind and spirit. It’s a journey to the self! Sage Patanjali gave a clear 8-step prescription for achieving all the possible benefits of yoga. In this Therapeutic Yoga immersion, participants will explore and experience five of the eight steps: Asan, Pranayam, Pratyahar, Dharana and Dhyan.
An experienced team of teachers, including Dr. Amita Chopra, will lead this session to give all the participants an experience of peace and ease in their body and mind. Session has been designed to suit the needs of the beginners; however advanced yoga practitioners will also find it highly rewarding.
Instructor Bindy Johnson will start the program at 9 am with a healing sound bath session. This will help participants solidify their scattered energies and get them ready for the physical yoga practice.
The healing sound bath will be followed by Seated Therapeutic Yoga. This session is designed for practitioners with physical limitations such as MS, spinal cord injuries or age-related difficulties. If you have not been able to practice yoga because of physical limitations, you owe this session to yourself. This session allows the participants to experience yoga as practiced by the Yogis in the Himalayas… with no access to yoga mats and heated rooms. A combination of asan, pranayam, mudras, bandhas, pratyahar and dharana practices, this practice is very easy to do, yet very powerful at subtle levels.
The session will move from Therapeutic Yoga to more Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahar, Dharana and Dhyan practices. In the end, we’ll have a few minutes for questions and feedback.
Space is limited and available on first-come-first-serve basis. So please come by 9:00 am and secure your spot for this opportunity for healing, energizing, relaxing and meditating. Please bring a yoga mat or a towel / blanket to take full advantage of this unique journey.
