BURLINGTON, MA—Two physicians from Cambridge Health Alliance will present a panel on “Woman’s Health and Gynecological Disorders” at Mega Health Expo on Sunday, April 3, at Burlington Marriot Hotel in Burlington, MA.
Dr. Hetal Verma will talk about preventing and dealing with breast cancer, and Dr. Tara Singh will make a presentation on “Women’s Health and Gynecological Disorders.” The panel will be moderated by Dr. Arsh Sethiya, a primary care physician at Cambridge Health Alliance.
This panel will be head at 12:15 pm.
Dr. Singh says that long-acting reversible contraception options are available to all women of reproductive age, and there has been a steady increase in usage both in the United States and worldwide.
“Cost, ease of access and concerns about fertility often limit use. There has been a greater push from the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the American Academy of Pediatrics to dispel myths related to use, and from the Affordable Care Act to make these options more accessible and affordable,” Dr. Singh said. “Today we will examine the options currently available, as well as their benefits and side effects. It is important for women to know what options exist for use to exert control over their contraceptive decisions. “
Dr. Verma said that breast cancer is the most common cancer in women and is the leading cause of cancer death in women worldwide.
“Since discussions around breast cancer are often avoided by many women, particularly those from India and other parts of Southeast Asia, women often don’t know about its widespread prevalence or the risk factors associated with breast cancer,” Dr. Verma said. “ In addition, there have been many differing guidelines presented to women regarding mammography and breast cancer screening. It is important for women to have a thorough understanding of breast cancer, the reasons for screening, and the reasons for the varying guidelines in order to make the most educated decision for themselves.”
The Health Expo is organized by INE MultiMedia in collaboration with INDIA New England News. The expo is free to all attendees and will be held on Sunday, April 3, at Burlington Marriott Hotel in Burlington, MA. It is sponsored by Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, Lahey Health, Cambridge Health Alliance and Neem Medical Spa and Wellness Center.
