Dr. Dinesh Patel and Dr. Chaitanya Mudgal to Discusses Common Knee, Shoulder Hip and Hand Disorders

BURLINGTON, MA– Orthopedic surgeons Dr. Dinesh Patel and Dr. Chaitanya Mudgal will discuss common knee, shoulder, hip and hand disorders at the 6th Annual Health, Fitness & Wellness Expo on Sunday, March 4, at Burlington Marriott Hotel in Burlington, MA.

“Both Dr. Patel and Dr. Mudgal are well-known experts in orthopedic areas and have been part of the Health Expo for many years,” said Upendra Mishra, producer of the Annual Health, Fitness & Wellness Expo. “We are very excited to have them again this year.”

Dr. Dinesh Patel

Dr. Patel is a founding member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America and the International Association of Arthroscopy. He has received many awards internationally for his pioneering work in Arthroscopic surgery. Mass General Hospital and Sports Medicine Leadership established The Dinesh G. Patel M.D. Arthroscopy Learning Laboratory in 2010. In 2001, Dr. Patel established Asia’s first Arthroscopic Psychomotor Skills Lab at BJMC /Paraplegia center in Ahmadabad. He has been in U.S. News and World reports as one of the best doctors in Orthopaedic surgery.

In February 2002, Boston Magazine voted him by his peers as one of the top doctors in the field of Orthopaedics. He has served as Chairman of the Board of Registration in Medicine in Massachusetts as well as a board member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committees of the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB). In April 2003, the FSMB honored Dr. Patel with the John H. Clark, MD Leadership Award—the first from the state of Massachusetts. He was one of the founders and second president of Indian Medical Association of New England.

Chaitanya S. Mudgal

Dr. Mudgal received his MBBS degree from Bombay University, India. He completed an Orthopaedic Residency in Bombay as well as one in Liverpool, UK, leading to his MS (Orth.) and MCh(Orth.) degrees. Dr. Mudgal went on to complete an additional Orthopaedic Residency in the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Residency Program in Boston, and a Fellowship in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at Cleveland Clinic and Case Western Reserve University.

Dr. Mudgal’s clinical interests include a comprehensive array of hand and upper extremity disorders such as fractures, tendon and nerve injuries and paralytic disorders of the upper limb and arthritic conditions. He is also extremely interested in surgery of the upper limb in patients who have suffered strokes or traumatic head injuries.

Prior to joining MGH faculty Dr. Mudgal was the founding Director of the Hand Service at the Cambridge Health Alliance, in Cambridge MA.
