Health Talk: Symptoms of depression, alcohol, drugs and social media addiction may surprise you

BURLINGTON, MA—You may have a few drinks a week, or feel sad sometimes, or frequently check your Facebook updates, but have you ever wondered if you are addicted to it. If not, you may want to watch this video.

In an exclusive video interview in the Health Talk series, Dr. Nitigna Desai, MD,  talks about when some of the regular habits become addictive. How far we can go and when to seek a professional or medical help.

Dr. Desai, chief of Addiction Psychiatry at the Department of Veterans Affairs and Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at UMass Medical School, will also participate in a panel discussion on Mental Health and Emotional Well-Being at Mega Health Expo on April 3 at Burlington Marriott Hotel in Burlington, MA. Other speakers in the panel include Dr. Smita Patel and Dr. Shalini Mansharamani. The panel will be held at 2:00 pm.
