5 Recommendations for Weight Loss by a Physician

BURLINGTON, MA—How often we get inspired by a friend or by reading an article or a book and jump on the band wagon to keep ourselves healthy and lose weight.  We start doing exercises, go on a strict diet or a combination of both and more. Sometimes these strategies work and often they don’t. We either give up or don’t succeed in our mission.

First the numbers: 34 million American adults are obese, meaning 30 percent are over their ideal weight; 108 million Americans are on diet, and 80 percent of them are women. They make four-to-five attempts each year to lose weight.

In this video interview, Dr. Rosy Sandhu, MD, founder of Neem Medical Spa & Wellness Center, talks about top five recommendations for weight loss:

1-Before you start your weight loss strategies, get a full physical exam by a physician.

2-Get a body composition analysis.

3-Plan a low calorie diet and make behavior modification.

4-Explore the role of medications in weight loss.

5-Look into options like body contouring devices and surgery.

Dr. Sandhu is scheduled to speak about weight loss, hair restoration and anti-aging at the upcoming Mega Health and Wellness Expo, which will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2016, at Burlington Marriott Hotel in Burlington, MA.  She will speak at 1:45 pm.

The Health Expo is organized by INE MultiMedia, a non-profit company devoted to education, empowerment, enrichment and entertainment, in collaboration with INDIA New England News. The expo, which is sponsored by Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, Lahey Health, Cambridge Health Alliance and Neem Spa, is free to all attendees.
